Car scratch repair at home?

Sammie Bocanegra: well, I can tell you how to do it. Wash the car down real good, put in a warm garage, and when it's all warm on the outside, time to go work. You'll need a circular sander, medium and very fine sandpaper. If there are any dents or indentations, you'll need what's called Bondo. Like clay or shackle. Add a little water and mix-not loose, firm. Then you'll need a kind of spreading knife. You can ask Canadian Tire or Home Depot. Now sand over the indentations till smooth.Lightly fill any indentations and sandpaper with very fine paper. re painting, Go to auto paint store and buy a can of paint. make sure they match. Or you can get some one to do it for $15.00 or $20.00 good Luck...Show more

Chris Rosenkranz: I would try some wax first to see if it can cover it. http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/detail/MEG+G7014JIf not then maybe a polisher. http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/detail/MEG+G11816

Son Ahlers: go to the parts store and find some black wax. This ! works well on black cars and is just likeputting on wax. I usually wet my applicator pad and squeeze all water out before applying wax.Black is easily scratched. you can rub extra on these scratched spots and some light onesmay go away.
