what age is it that you child can enter preschool?

Fermin Tara: it all depends on when their birthday fallsprovided your birthday is before january (used to be the 7th)and you turn 4 (before the 7), you could start school in septemberif your birthday falls after that, then you have to wait an extra yrexample: my daughter was born nov 24/she started school (junior kindergarten) when she was 3she turned 4 in nov.my youngest daughter was born june 26/she will start school next yr (sept 2010), she will be 4 thru-out the entire yr....Show more

Lionel Tanen: potty trained and about 3

Vida Miss: 15 ry old for preschool

Elinore Schlinker: You can start your child at 3 or 4 depending on the preschool you select. For the most part 4 years old is the legal age for preschool for the LAUSD.(Unless your child is special needs student then you can enroll them at 3 years old) There are headstart programs which are state programs that require certain criteria to be met(income eligible) and then there is SRLDP which is th! rough the district and require a child be 4 years old by dec. 3 of the school year the child will be enrolling to. There is always pre-k programs you can pay for and they will take your child basically whenever. Its great you are thinking about this even though your baby is only 1. Before you know it,it will be time! Good Luck:)...Show more

Corrina Faro: 3 years if they are potty trained.

Georgianna Zollo: There isn't an age where they are "supposed" to be entered into preschool. Whenever you feel comfortable is the most important thing! I think it's best to get your child into a preschool before they are 3. Around two is a good age, unless obviously they have already been in the preschool since being an infant. A school experience outside the home provides for developmental opportunities that parents may not have time to provide. Daily interactions with teacher and peers in a trusting and learning environment help build upon an already established family found! ation. Family habits, rituals and culture are expanded to incl! ude a diversity of school schedules, routines and celebrations....Show more

Alphonso Brake: The Headstart program is 3 or 4 (If you have one in your area- It is for low income families). A child with disabilities that meets the guidelines can be enrolled at 2. For K-4 that is part of the county school system the child has to be 4. They can be 3 if they have a disability and meet guidelines. Other preschools accept kids at 2, 3 and 4. It depends on the area that you live in and the type of preschool that you are interested in. Most importantly though is when you feel that your child is ready....Show more

Mario Stricklan: Yes, you are correct. It is 3 or 4 years old.
