Cuc Gire: yahoo is experiencing technical problems..Don't know how long it will be to fix it..There are server problems...I haven"t been able to play for 3 days now..Many people can play as yahoo will take u to the second page to type to others, but it will not allow u to create a table and play yourself or join anyone else"s table..If u hit create table, all u will get is a blank page...Don"t know how long it will take to resolve the issue..I have sent an email to their technical department hoping they would get it fixed...You can hit option button and click small windows and it will allow u to play, but the screen is very small..Iam hoping yahoo will get this issue resolved so u can play on normal windows.....Show more
Jill Thomer: This question does not belong in board games. It is a computer question and has nothing to do with the game of chess. If you're question is about the "new, improved Yahoo Chess," or the old "standard Yahoo Chess", these online games are! server-side applications and there is nothing you can do from the client side. While waiting for Yahoo to fix their problem, why not do an internet search for other providers of online chess? If you question is about chess games you have downloaded from Yahoo Games, it is possible software on your computer is outdated, or files on your computer have become corrupted. First remove the old software; it's stored in a windows folder called "downloads," "program downloads" or something similar (unless you put it in another folder when you downloaded the original program.) If you have played this chess game before, then you have the chess program somewhere on your hard drive. Find the program and remove it. If it's listed in control panel, add/remove programs, use that feature; if not, then delete the program manually.Next install your program back-up (you did make a back-up copy, didn't you?), or obtain a replacement copy if such a service is available from the seller. If you! still cannot run the game, most likely you also need to updat! e your version of Flash Player or Java. Both Adobe and Oracle constantly send reminders to upgrade these products for free, but people tend to ignore these until they have a problem. Navigate to the Adobe and/or Oracle download sites and follow their instructions carefully. Frequently you will need to uninstall the old version before you can download and install the newest version. Use Windows control panel, add/remove programs, to uninstall Flash and Java - do not attempt to do this manually (multiple hidden files.) http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/http://www.oracle.com/us/downloads/index.html...Show more
