Rona Ising: usually it does mean asking for a date but not always...so i always politely confirm about what's going on in the guy's mind by asking "do you mean like a date?" or may be "oh yeah...ur asking me for a date, aren't u??"...at times it gets funny...but it's always good to clear your mind out=)
Hunter Beech: no it means they are asking you be become their boyfriend or girlfriend.it only means your going out if you actually say yes.but if you say no then your not going out.
Amada Greising: You are dating only after you go out on a date.
Burt Stoecklin: it used to be that way i dont think it has changed
