Marion Wieboldt: I see philosophy as spice. By itself, it is not food, but it can make any other food much better.In college, many people who study philosophy end up teaching it. Others study it before entering their real career, such as law. A minority of philosophy students end up writing books, and perhaps paid conference speakers; those careers are unstable and extremely competitive.I do not say you cannot make a living from philosophy if you do not go into teaching it, or using it as a bridge to other career. The key is to find an application of philosophy that others are willing to pay you to exercise; that is easier said than done....Show more
Sharron Salin: I'm sorry, I wasn't clear with my question. I want philosophy to be my career. I wasn't asking how to apply it in a career.
Brittney Inabnit: Apply in real life to handle people, understand them and help yourself to grow in the career with that extra element of philosophy knowledge you h! ave. ;)
